For more than a decade, CAJE is proud to partner with the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School to offer adult education classes.
CAJE's Florence Melton Adult Mini-School is an exciting concept in adult Jewish learning that provides students the opportunity to obtain basic - yet comprehensive and sophisticated - core of Jewish knowledge. Developed by a team of scholars and educators at the Melton Centre for Jewish Education of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1986, the Mini-School now educates 4500 learners in 62 cities in North America and around the world each year. Participants who complete the program receive a certificate of Jewish Studies from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The Melton curriculum is appropriate for all adult Jewish learners, regardless of affiliation or background, as well as for gentiles who are part of a Jewish family, work in the Jewish community, or who are pursuing conversion to Judaism. The curriculum is based on the study of primary Jewish sources n English translation, and is taught by rabbis and master educators in our community. Classes are pluralistic, interactive, and discussion-based. No tests, no grades, no homework...know Judaism.
