Google will make it easier for users to search for COVID-19 testing centers as the company adds a new feature to Google Search, Google Assistant and Google Maps that will allow users to quickly find information about authorized COVID-19 testing centers nearby.
Google has been closely monitoring the impact of the Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) since it broke out earlier this year. The company has taken a number of measures to keep users safe and up-to-date with the most useful information. The Mountain View-based tech giant recently added several safety features in Google Maps, Google Search and Google Assistant to help users locate testing centers

The announcement was made via a tweet on Twitter and Google announced that it is working closely with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Indian government to add features to its services and apps. And this feature supports 10 languages including English, Indian, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujrati, and Marathi.
Now, with the integration of this feature into Google Search, when users search for keywords like “coronavirus testing,” “COVID-19 test,” or “covid testing,” the search results provide information about licensed COVID-19 testing centers nearby.
In Google Assistant, when a user asks about a coronavirus test, the Testing tab will appear in the search page. This tab provides a list of nearby testing centers similar to Google Search search results.
In the same way, Google Maps will show a testing center in a zone right on the map. Users can then click on the hub to get more information such as whether it is a private center or run by a government entity.
Finally, there is a “learn more” option next to the search results that will redirect users to the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
